The lift will have a capacity for 13 people and will have access wide enough to allow the entry of goods to supply the hostel.
With this action, the access to the Ripollès station will be 100% adapted to people with reduced mobility
Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) will install an elevator to access the Comè del Clot cable car in Vall de Núria. It will be located right at the entrance to the cable car station, at the foot of the Sanctuary, at an altitude of 2,000, where it can be reached by cog railway from Ribes or Queralbs. In this way, access to the Ripollesa station will be 100% adapted for people with reduced mobility, as will all FGC stations.
The place where the works will be carried out, which are currently in tender, is the current building of the lower station, a rectangular space consisting of three floors: the ground floor is located almost at the level of the platform of the rack railway train, the first floor gives access to internal storage facilities and the second floor is from where you can already access the cable car. The new elevator will connect the three floors and, once installed, will be covered with a stone wall so that it conforms to the existing typology in the valley.
The lift will have a cabin of 1.40x1.70 meters, capacity for 13 people, 1,000 kg of load, a distance of 7 meters and will have a door of 90 cm that will also allow the passage of the goods needed to supply the Youth Hostel located in the Pic de l'Àliga.
The Coma del Clot Cable Car in Vall de Núria has been in operation since last February after a complete renovation process, once the old cable car had reached the end of its useful life.
