The long-awaited mountain race, organized by the Unió Excursionista Vic, is a classic in the trail running calendar and will take place on the weekend of September 14 and 15 at the Ripoll resort.

The 17th Olla de Núria has 800 entries this year (650 registered in the Olla Clàssica, 50 in the Olla Júnior and 100 in the Olleta), among which the presence of Jan Margarit, Jan Torrella, Laia Montoya or Núria Tarragó.

With this new edition, FGC highlights its commitment to sports initiatives with the aim of putting the Catalan Pyrenees on the international map in both summer and winter

On the weekend of September 14 and 15, Vall de Núria will be the setting for the 17th Olla de Núria, one of the most emblematic mountain races in Catalan trail running. It is a test where not a single meter of asphalt is stepped on and it is contested in this privileged environment, accessible only by the Rack Raiwlay or on foot.

In this year's edition, the participation of 800 people is expected (650 registered in the Olla Clàssica, 50 in the Olla Júnior and 100 in the Olleta), among which the presence of Jan Margarit, Jan Torrella, Lluis Puigvert, Abel Carretero, Dani Castillo and Samuel Davila, in the male category, and Anna Guirado, Núria Llanso, Núria Tarragó, Ainara Urribarri and Laia Montoya, in the female category.

With the Olla de Núria, organized by the Unió Excursionista de Vic, Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya demonstrates once again its willingness to de-seasonalise and promote sporting events in order to place the Catalan Pyrenees on the international map. This year, the competition can be followed live on TV3 or 3CAT from 8.45 a.m. to 12.00 p.m., which will allow for wide visibility of the test and will promote sport and healthy habits.

On the occasion of the Olla de Núria race, the Rack Railway will run exclusively between Queralbs and Vall de Núria. Going up will be every 30 minutes from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m., and going down from Núria to Queralbs every 30 minutes until 5.30 p.m. Book tickets here.

Three competitions, one scenario

On Sunday, September 15, the long-awaited Olla Clàssica, the alpine half-marathon, will be held, which ascends the Puigmal (2,913 meters) and culminates in the Santuari de Núria, located at 1,921 meters above sea level. This 24 kilometer race has a positive gradient of 2,130 m, with a 100% alpine route.

That same morning, the Olla Júnior and the Olleta will also take place, two proposals that offer the little ones the option of running their own mountain race adapted to their abilities.

Sustainability, at the forefront

The Excursionist Union of Vic aligns itself with the Vall de Núria Ecovall project. In this way, all refreshments during the day of the race will be with recycled material. The test will be open to the public, who will be able to access it via the Rack Railway, a 100% sustainable transport.

Once the tests are finished, Vall de Núria will carry out selective waste collection.
